With winter now upon our doorstep (normally a lot earlier in Tasmania than Queensland) it is nice to know that both buildings are now “topped out”. Our team are now inside the buildings pre-wiring the student accommodation spaces. Fitting off has commenced on the lower levels, and the electrical “heart” (being the main switchboard) is being installed this month – a major milestone for any electrical contractor and we thank our local manufacturers for maintaining the program during these unprecedented times. May also seen another two local electricians join the Blue Star team to assist us in continuing to complete the project ahead of program.

All areas of the project are currently in the rough-in stage and will be followed by the final fit off stages. The Blue Star team is working hard towards project completion to handover to the client later this year.

The Chester and Ella project is a unique set of towers which makes a definite statement in Brisbane. Chester tower is symbolic of the male form, raw materials with bold and sharp lines while Ella tower is symbolic of the female form with sleek curvy lines and a more refined finish. These different shapes and curves to the building made it a very challenging build however, we were able to work through this and deliver 319 apartments, 2 rooftop pools, gym, cinema and formal dining areas just before Christmas last year. The Blue Star crew worked hard to deliver a high quality project, its been great working with Hutchinson Builders again – We look forward to the next challenge together….
